Longer sentences and longer paragraphs help slow down the pace, since they take longer to read and are often associated with formal writing and the explanation of more complicated ideas. We look at the paragraphs and think about how they link: do they flow logically? Do you take time to slow things down so your reader gets the full impact of the drama?
